Note:
Attribute Code Parent Category   Synonyms Description Qualifier 1 Qualifier 2
fraction_type ACS   acid soluble   acid hydrolysable the fraction which becomes dissolved within the sample following treatment with an appropriate acid.
fraction_type SOL   soluble   dissolved the fraction found in the liquid medium and cannot be removed by filtration.
fraction_type FLT   filterable   filtered the fraction which is extracted from the liquid medium by filtration.
fraction_type FIX   fixed     the fraction found in the liquid layer above a precipitate produced from the sample.
fraction_type NFT   non-filterable     the fraction which is in or absorbed to material which passes through the filter during sample filtration.
fraction_type NST   non-settleable     the fraction which is in or absorbed to particles remaining in suspension in the sample container after a settling process.
fraction_type NVL   non-volatile     the fraction which is in a liquid or solid state under normal temperature and pressure.
fraction_type SET   settleable     the fraction which is found in or absorbed to that part of the sample which has settled (fallen out of suspension) to the bottom of the sample container.
fraction_type SPN   supernate     the fraction found in the liquid layer above a precipitate produced from the sample.
fraction_type SUS   suspended     the fraction which is suspended in the sampled medium, either as, or adsorbed to, particles which are more or less uniformly dispersed within the medium.
fraction_type TOT   total     the total of all fractions of the sample.
fraction_type VAP   vapour     the fraction which exists in a gaseous state and that under ordinary conditions is liquid or solid.
fraction_type VOL   volatile     the fraction which evaporates readily at normal temperature and pressure.
fraction_type WET   wet solid     the wet or moist solid fraction of the sample
fraction_type DRY   dry solid     the solid fraction of the sample after being dried in an oven
fraction_type AFD DRY   ash free dry solid   the solid fraction of the sample after being dried at a high temperature (eg. in a furnace at 550 C)
fraction_type UNK   unknown     the fraction of the sample used is unknown
